I wrote another question to CEO support. Why is LG doing this? It wouldn't cost LG anything to enable it, and why does LG think other European countries don't want to calibrate? Ultimately, LG has no advantage except for a few disgruntled customers like me, who bought an 83-inch TV where such a restriction wasn't apparent before purchase, and now I can't pursue my hobby. Then I can buy other brands in the future. As expected, there was no response.

That's assuming that the TVs are even physically capable. At least some appear to be cost-reduced versions imported by a particular German retailer outside normal regional LG channels and calibration capability may not have been built into them, determined by their choice of components. If this is the case, enabling it will not be possible.

now I have an answer:
"Sehr geehrter Herr *****,

...so, basically they say it is a LightIllusion problem...

Google Translation
Dear Mr. *****,
I can confirm that the OLED65G45LW is calibrated with both 3D-LUT and Calman. Firstly, the panel is identical to the G48 series, and secondly, the firmware. This is also confirmed on both vendor websites, which is why I ask you to contact Light Illusion if in doubt.
Here you can see that the G4 series is supported by 3D-LUT:

Here is the information from Calman (click on Specifications a little further down):

I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

As the response points to the generic 'G4' being supported, when we know there are specific models that LG have turned-off calibration capability for, with Calman and ColourSpace showing there is no calibration option, there really is no valid info in that reply...

I have added the following text to the LG User Guide, so you can point this out to the CEO Support Team...

"Note: Capabilities can vary within LG models due to TV model firmware variations. Some EU models have proven to have no LUT based calibration capabilities. Affected models appear to be, but not necessarily limited to, C41/C42/C43 as well as the G42/G43/G45. Such limitations are not due to ColourSpace."

I'm obviously not sure why Calman do not seem to mention this issue anywhere that I can see...

I have created a thread in AVSForum about the issue with disabled calibration functions of some 2024/2025 EU LG OLED TVs.

Please post your full TV model to help create a database.
