Hi , I have a couple questions on how to use the i1 probe I bought from LightIllusion with LightSpace CMS to calibrate my projector (Sony VPL-VW1100ES)
What would be the right distance between the probe and the screen?
Should I calibrate with the probe hood on or off?
How can I make sure the projector outputs the proper 14fl (50nits)? Do I put the probe where the colorist sits and just measure from there?

Distance from the screen actually makes no real difference, so long as the measuring area fits within the screen.
You can calculate the measuring area based on the distance from the screen as the probe's viewing angle.
I prefer to use the actual position of the'viewer' if possible.

The rotating head should always be 'off' for and display measuring .

The distance from the screen will not affect the measured brightness, as the further back you go the larger the measured area becomes - so long as the measuring area fits within the screen, as mentioned above.
