When calibrating your monitor or projector with DaVinci Resolve as the patch generator, the interface restricts colour input values to 8-bit, limiting your ability to measure the full subtlety of the Gamma/EOTF (electro-optical transfer function).

ColourSpace has no such restriction. The new Aulwa app CS Patch Translator enables ColourSpace to deliver full standard 10-bit colour resolution directly into the patch generator in DaVinci Resolve, allowing you to calibrate your complete plate-to-screen pipeline and ensure accurate colour reproduction throughout your workflow.

As is stated on the Resolve User Guide, there are a couple of issues with Resolve's ColourSpace integration, which BMD have never fixed.
One is that using Resolve as a TPG the bit depth is limited to 8 bit.

Weirdly, although Calman is limited to 8 bit accuracy as it has no native greater bit depth capability the Calman integration within Resolve can work at 10 bit.

CS Patch Translator takes advantage of this capability and enables ColourSpace to use the Portrait Displays/Calman options within resolve for true 10 bit TPG operation.
Something Calman is not capable of doing...
