As part of the new LUT Generation Size capability of higher ColourSpace license levels now have the ability to define the grey scale patch count independently from the cube size for Characterisation.

Watch this space for more news, as more features will be added to these new ColourSpace capabilities.

Excellent. I assume the expanded gray patch count will be subtracted from the number of gamut patches to keep the cube at the same size, or will it be added? Not a big deal at all, just curious!

I'm not quote sure what you mean.
But, the Grey Scale Size defines the grey scale patch count, and by default matches the Cube size, but can ne increased by the user in Higher License Levels of ColourSpace.
(2x-1 for Body Centre Cube).

The Quick Profile Ramp Size is also changing.

I just downloaded 2233 and played around with it. Got my answer, too. In short, I had been wondering if adding grayscale patches via the new slider would raise the total patch count, or if gamut patches would be sacrificed to keep the patch count the same, and it did raise the tally. It was just a silly "What if..." question.

Ah - I see...
As you found out, the grey scale patch count is totally separate to the volumetric patch count, so both get added together to give the total patch number.

We also have more additions coming to these new operational functions, so the options will get even more powerful over time.
