ASUS PA32UCDM connection error

I'm encountering an error when trying to connect using the ASUS hardware options integration. I've tried swapping USB ports on the monitor and it seems like I have the right one.. when using the other ports the program spends about 30 seconds looking for a connection and throws a generic "connection failed to ASUS" error.

This is the error I'm getting now with what I have to assume is the right port:

Error: Failed ProArtM_CapPreGammaFunc() Unknown Error

I just spent some time killing background processes as I saw in another thread that sometimes 3rd party apps can affect the probe connection. However it seems my probe can connect totally fine, I'm able to run a profile normally using the Network Server mode and running patches out of Resolve.

Here's my setup:
i1d3 OEM probe connected via USB to PC
Win11 desktop running both Colourspace LTE and Resolve 20.2.2 as a patch generator
BMD Mini Monitor 4k HDMI to PA32UCDM
The PA32UCDM is on the newest firmware (MCM107).

That means ColourSpace can see the ASUS, but it is in a strange state.
Try powering down and back on, and do the same with ColourSpace.
It may be your previous attempts to connect on the wrong ports has caused an issue.

Thanks Steve! Tried a few restarts to no avail but after fully resetting the monitor I was able to get connected. Cheers

Thanks for the update.
Seems something really did get screwed-up within the monitor.

Different ASUS monitor (mine is PA32UCG), but similar problem. I am currently running ColourSpace on a Windows laptop.

I am using a USB-C cable and have tried both USB-C ports on the monitor. Both give me the "connection failed to ASUS" error message. Both work in the ProArt Calibration Software. I have also tried a USB-A (on the PC) to USB-C (on the monitor) with the same results, negative in CS and but positive in the ProArt software.

The monitor's USB-A ports don't seem to work, either — not even in the ProArt software, at least not with the USB-C to USB-A cable, and unfortunately I haven't had a USB-A to USB-A cable in quite some time.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Unfortunately there is not a lot we can say to help, other than have you tried running ColourSpace as Admin?
ASUS did have an issue with that, as the User Guide says.
Other than that, it just works unless there is an issue as mentioned in this thread.

Thank you Steve.

Running ColourSpace as Admin solved the ASUS connection issue.

Yep - an ASUS issue.
That's why it does say that Admin may be needed in the User Guide.
