If I am understanding things correctly it is possible to run a registered instance of ColourSpace HTL on one device and control a probe, such as an iD3, connected to another remote device. Am I correct that all I need is a licenced ZRO installed on the remote device or do I need a DPS licence for this?

There's a Remote Control guide. DPS and ZRO aren't listed. The Guide mentions a protocol document you should download:

If you look at the "Features Matrix" you can see ColourSpace DPS ands ZRO can be Servant only.

Which is exactly what I want isn't it? Local is the licensed ColourSpace HTL and then I just need a remote Licensed ZRO? In this context servant is the same as remote where the actual probe is physically connected???

If you are actually talking about Master/Servant within the inherent Remote Control capabilities of ColourSpace, yes.
Rather that the Protocol for 3rd party applications, etc., which is rather different.

Just about to purchase a ZRO licence to act as a Servant with a connected iD3 probe and have just realised that my Lumagen Radiance which will also be my TPG is connected to the servant as well. Would I be right in assuming that the Lumagen has to be connected to the Master unless the Servant is also running another HTL licence? So basically connecting to a remote instance of Colourspace with a probe connected isn't going to work for me......

If you want to use a Lumagen with the Servant instance of ColourSpace - as TPG, etc. - the Servant will need to be a ColourSpace licence level capable of connecting to a Lumagen.
