An LG TV that allows LUT uploads via USB or the service menu is not available.

Steve:
he has no idea what he is talking about...

autsch...
...then I hope he will forward my questions to the next level...

do you think there could be something like a "repair-Firm-Ware" which LG could provide, or is the damage irreversible?

Please see the new ColourSpace release we have just made.
It should now show a warning message if the LG TV has no calibration capabilities.

It could be a function turned off somewhere in a deep level of the service menu.

If the repair center cannot find a method via the service menu, ask them to replace the main board with a board that has enabled calibration functions.

What does the latest ColourSpace release say when you connect to the LG and try to calibrate?

...my Friend is traveling, so I was not able yet to check... I will report as soon I have access... Thanks a lot

@ConnecTED

That does suggest there is no calibration option enabled within the TV.
But, it is not 100% certain that is the issue.
(See later posts on this.)

meanwhile the LG-Support came back to me.
it is a little bit unclear (problem with translation?) :
lose translation from my side: ' with this model the upload of a LUT with calibration mode would require the use of the Service Menu. But since the access (of the SM) for end users is against the policy of LG and one needs a "special remote control" () we need to contact a Service Partner"
they want to recommend one in our region.

We will see what he will do: replace the main board or really make some changes in the SM...

Again, suggesting Uploading LUTs via the Service Menu means they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about...

this thread is unfortunately a little bit mixed up;
the origin was the low maxLuma in HDR (the calibration issue came on top);

since I was working with the 65" G4 today in order to test the new CS version, I took the opportunity to recheck the HDR-brightness;
I can confirm that this device shows ~600 nits with 4096x2160 resolution and ~1500 nits with 3840x2160...
I could only speculate why...

Steve
...well maybe translation problems... maybe they wanted to say that in order to upload a LUT with this device some changes in the SM are needed, so the calibration mode could be activated...

we will see.
