Good day.

I recently purchased a brand-new-in-box Myiro-1 via eBay.
The idea was to be able to use in conjunction with my i1D3 for more absolute accuracy when profiling my JVC-NX7 projector.
And for general learning and practice in using a spectro.

I'm able to take reflective measurements using the included software, but haven't been able to figure out how to take emissive measurement, or how to get the meter to connect to ColourSpace. Don't know if those two issues are at all connected.

I can launch the MyiroTools software and connect to the meter, and calibrate it. At this point the meter has a blue ready light.
However if I now try and connect to the meter via ColourSpace I get an Error from within the Profile->Meter window.

If I power the meter down, reconnect it to the computer and with MyiroTools closed launch ColourSpace->Profiling->Meter and attempt to connect to the Myiro-1 then the light on the meter changes from orange to yellow, but then Colourspace just hangs and the profile window just shows not responding.

I confirmed from the device manager that the COM port matches what ColourSpace sees, and if I change the COM port in Windows then that change is reflected in the profile window.

I've tried to telenet to the device but I can't seem to get a response that way, just a blank screen.

Is there a known good firmware that works with ColourSpace that I should be using?

The firmware on the Myiro-1 is version 1.02.0005.
ColourSpace is version 1.0.0.2042 with LTE license.

I guess it is possible the Myro software is causing an issue?
We've never used that.
Beyond that, is should just work.

Hi Steve,

I tried on a different computer without MyiroTools installed and found the same behavior with freeze on Connect.

In device manager, without MyiroTools installed it shows up as USB Serial Device (COM3) and with MyiroTools Installed it appears as Measuring Instruments (COM3).
But other wise the behavior is identical.

Do you have an earlier, known good version of ColourSpace from when you first integrated it that I can test with?
And is it possible for you to confirm what the firmware version was of the meter when you did the integration?

We have made no changes to the Myro integration since it was implemented.
No older version will be any different.
Unfortunately, it sounds like an issue with that probe.
Email me directly to see if we can log anything that shows the issue.
