PGenerator bug?

After trying various templates on my PGen (internal pattern generator, etc) this red blocky text(?) flashes on the screen, intead of the expected full-screen green patch.
Did a reset with the "Factory Reset" template, which fixed 1080p60Hz, but 2160p30Hz still looks like this.
I think it's the "Welcome to PGen" screen, but broken.

When connected to PC over eth as a TPG it still runs patches as expected.
Do I need to reflash my SD-card, or can it still be used like this? (AKA YCbCr444 [Limited] still bit-perfect?)

Apologies if there's already a thread for general support/questions.

There is no 'welcome to PGen' screen that I have ever seen...
But, when PGen first starts there is a load of what I can only describe as 'garbage text' displayed.

As for your question on if your PGen will still be accurate, not idea.
You would need to measure the output to verify.

But why have you not re-flashed the PGen OS anyway?

The PGenerator will display a colorful ramp, followed by a lot of rolling text and a black screen.

After the black screen, it will be ready to connect with DeviceControl or ColourSpace.

When you use 2160p30 output, enable the deep color/enhanced signal on your TV on the current HDMI and ensure that your cable is HDMI 2.0 certified.

Check also that you use the correct HDMI port; it's the HDMI-A1 port if you look at the EDID window; it's the port near the USB-C if you use a regular case with micro-HDMI ports in the Pi4 board.

There is if you factory reset PGen.
It's roughly "Welcome to PGenerator" and under that you see the IP-adress assigned to PGen, etc.
This flashes in and out in regular intervals, just like the bugged screen.
ConnecTED:

This is after bootup. (I know what a Linux boot-screen looks like)
"Input Signal Plus" (AKA HDMI "Deep Colour") is enabled.
The correct micro-HDMI input is used. (verified in EDID)
The cable should be HDMI 2.0, I'll try a different one to be sure. It worked fine before I tried out the various templates though.

I'll probably just re-flash PGen, just a bit annoying is all.
I don't think the device should bug-out because of template testing? Maybe it's because the templates where made for older versions of PGen?

We only ever use PGen with ColourSpace.
And obviously we have nothing to do with PGen software itself.
And how it works with any control software other than ColourSpace is not something we would have any knowledge of.
You would likely be better using a forum for users of other control software.

I'm talking about internal DeviceControl templates made for PGen.
Nothing to do with the PC-side software.(ColourSpace/HCFR/Calman)

Also, ConnecTED sells an internal template via his paid version ("Ted's LightSpace CMS Calibration Disk for PGenerator"), how is that not a officially supported function?

We are not responsible for any 3rd party software - PGen/DeviceControl/etc.
We are only responsible for ColourSpace.
You may get assistance for 3rd party programs, but no guarantees.
Better to use a forum for users of any 3rd party software.

Please provide more info about which ISO and software you use.

The latest DeviceControl is available for download here:

https://displaycalibrations.com/lg_templates_for_device_control.html

The latest PGenerator ISO (public or Ted's) is the 1.6, Settings Template 1.6 and Ted's Template V4.

Find the checksum numbers and confirm that the ISO you have flashed your SD card has no issues.

Do you see an error when injecting a pattern using a Template or generating a patch using ColourSpace?

No one has reported any single problem using Ted's Template V4 using Pi4, Pi3, etc.

If you have any problem, send me an email and record a video that shows the issue.

We have seen problems when the Pi board is broken.

Just for info, I have again run-up my PGen, and there definitely is no 'Welcome Screen'.
There is just the Colour Ramp (HALD) image, and then a long screen of 'garbage' text.
(No, it is not actual garbage, but you know what I mean...)
The screen then blacks-out, ready for input commands.
