dear all, dear steve,

what AJA LUT BOX firmware and software versions do you use succesfully with lightspace?
when i export my calibration lut and try to load it in the aja i get strange results. red instead of
black etc.

i've read in the forum that in the beginning there were some "parsing"-problems (what does this even mean?)
and that they are gone now. but when i use that linked software-version it needs the 1.0 firmware
version of my aja, and when i downgrade to that the problem persists.

so, please tell me, what exact versions work well?

what are your experiences?

Hi Andi,

We always make sure the AJA box firmware AND the associated software to upload the LUTs is the latest version.
Just download the latest from the AJA website.

Yeah - last year I had one that dramatically reduced the dynamic range in the Cr channel - it looked like all the reds were at sub 8-bits while the rest of the pictures was fine. Updated to the latest AJA firmware (I forget which one - was under a desk at a facility being shouted at!) and the same LightSpace-derived LUT worked splendidly.

Hi Steve,

In our post facility we have the AJA Io XT instead, that offers the posibility of load a 1DLUT,

¿which lut format should I export to? Already tried with Aja17 and others but none is accepted by the IoXT.

Thanks in advance, best regards,
Jesús

Hi Jesús - we have never tried the AJA Io XT, as a 1D LUT is not really of much use... other than for simple gamma conversions.
I think you will have to ask AJA what form they use.

If you fine we do not presently support it, send me an example and we'll add it.

Hi Steve,

According to AJA manual it seems to be a really simple txt LUT, as they explain in page 36: https://www.aja.com/assets/support/files/3032/en/AJA_IoXT_4K_Manual_v12.2.pdf

What I'm trying to do now is to modify manually the LUT generated by LightIllusion, and trying several formats. At the moment I found that Quantel 1D LUT 10 bits approachs quite well to AJA's description, but it is not accepted yet by the IoXT.

Hope this helps, I continue my research and any news I let you know

Thanks again, cheers!

That is a standard .csv file.

You can export any 1D LUT from LightSpace that has 10 bit data and 0-1024 lines, and load that into Excel to then save that as a .csv.

You need a 1D LUT with three (RGB) columns - for example the Quantel 1D 10bit format will work.
(Just remove the 'header' data before exporting from Excel)
