Hi fellow Lightspace users,
happy to share here that we have now enabled public access to
http://DisplayCalibrationTools.com/ If you are a Lightspace lover as well and you currently enjoy the fastest and most accurate solution out there, well then your copy of Lightspace just got a tiny bit better
Our site offers various profiling / calibration tools, including dedicated Lightspace tools that enhance your profiling/calibration workflow.
Please post questions or requests in this thread. Here's a quick overview of the current tools:
LIGHTSPACE PROFILE REPORTERThis is a dedicated Lightspace tool, you're gonna like this.
This tool allows you to fully verify/validate any given Lightspace profile - Quick Profiles, full Display Characterizations (17^3, 21^3 etc) or Custom Profiles. You will get a full delta E report of
every single profile point. You can validate against dE 1976 Luv, dE 1976 Lab, dE 1994 and dE 2000. Choose which one or validate against all 4.
Currently supported color targets are Rec 709 (with any Gamma you specify, not just 2.2), BT.1886, sRGB, DCI P3 and DCI XYZ.
The tool output various delta E reports, such as: profile points grouped by color (W|R|G|B|C|M|Y|Other), all profile points grouped by Brightness and all profile points grouped by Saturation, and a delta E distribution overview of all profile points averaged.
The tool then provides various graphs, most of them are the corresponding graphs for the delta E reports mentioned above.
The report then displays a dE graph of all Greyscale points and a RGB balance graph.
It also displays 2 different gamma graphs.
At the bottom of the report you will find an interface to create additional graphs, u can create graphs for each color group (R|G|B|C|M|Y) and group profile points either by Brightness or Saturation.
This tool in combination with the Custom Color Patch Sequence Generator (see below) now gives you full control over what you profile and gives you detailed data about the current calibration of your display. Not to mention that Lighstspace has superior probe handling - speed and probe accuracy / transparency are a concern in other solutions.
See an example screenshot of a profile report in one of the posts below.
CUSTOM COLOR PATCH SEQUENCE GENERATORControl what you are profiling !
This tool allows you to create custom color patch sequences that can be used for profiling in any solution that allows the import of custom patch sets. Lightspace started to support the import of custom patch sets a couple of months ago. This tool saves the color patch sequence to .csv files which can be directly imported into Lightspace.
(1) Generated Grid Sequence section
Up to 50^3 profiles, current LS limit is 21^3 so now you can go way beyond that.
Add a custom greyscale up to 100 points.
Create linear grid sequences or apply a (uniform) weight / (uniform) reverse weight or use original LS grid sequences (which have a custom weight)
There are various sort options that allow you to arrange the order of the patches - this is very important for Plasma displays and their inherent ABL issues.
This tool gives you the ability to remove patches from the patch set, this is very useful for probes which struggle below a certain brightnes threshold. Not only do u save time not measuring these patches, but you also do not contaminate your profile with bad probe data, IF the probe was actually able to read a point.
The tool outputs a Hue graph, Saturation graph and Brightness graph giving you a visual overview of the color patch sequence.
The visual appearance of the graphs can be adjusted so that u can look at the same data in multiple ways - this reveals all characteristics of a given patch set.
Below each graph, u get a full list of all hues / saturation levels / brightness level that occur in the patch set and the number of profile points for each. Saturation and Brightness points are also grouped into 0-25%, 25-75% & 75-100% so that u see where the bulk/meat of the profiling points are located.
(2) Manual Grid Sequence section
The same options as the Generated Grid Sequence section with the difference that instead of generating a grid sequence, u can manually define the grid sequence that will be used to create the 3D patch set. This gives even more control as u can now apply weight to specific patches only or shift weight in the grid sequence as you like.
(3) Custom Patch Set section
This section gives you full control over creating a patch sequence that is not grid based - this section is currently under revision.
See an example screenshot of a Generated Grid Sequence created via the CPSG in one of the posts below.
COLOR PATCH SEQUENCE VIEWER Know what you are profiling !
This section allows you to view color patch sets that you might have created via the Custom Color Patch Sequence Generator, received from peers or want to evaluate in general. Currently supported file types are .csv and .ti1/.ti3. Lightspace uses .csv, Argyll uses .ti1/.ti3.
The section will output the same detailed data and graphs as the Custom Color Patch Sequence Generator.
CUSTOM COLOR SPACE CREATORAnother dedicated Lightspace tool.
As you might know, Lightspace supports custom color spaces and recently has added parametric gamma control, which means that you can create a custom color space with a custom gamut and complete custom gamma - you can control / modify / adjust the gamma at up to 100 brightness points. This is a a fantastic help for displays and/or PJs that struggle outputting a constant gamma or your desired gamma.
This tool enables you to create custom color spaces to be used within Lightspace with fully custom gamut and gamma - it visualizes the gamma adjustments that you make in 2 separate gamma graphs so that you can easily coordinate and pinpoint your gamma adjustments.
See an example screenshot of a Custom Color Space in one of the posts below.
EECOLOR 3D LUT ANALYZER This tool allows you to analyze and optionally compare eeColor 3D LUT's. You can define how many RGBCMY points (4 | 10 | 21) will be analyzed for a given LUT and the tool will return statistics about the RGB corrections that the LUT introduces for these points. These statistics can be used to compare multiple calibration LUT's (created for the same display) against each other, and to determine which LUT triggers less processing inside the eeColor box.
LIGHTSPACE CUSTOM METER PROFILE CREATOR / EDITORAnother dedicated Lightspace tool. This tool allows you to create and/or edit Lightsapce meter profiles.
If you have any questions, please post here in this thread.
Happy calibrating !
