Measurement differences between Jeti and X-Rite

Hi,
I've measured an ASUS PA32 UCDM using a Jeti Spectraval 1501, an i1Pro 2, and a Calibrite SL and HL. The luminance values from the Jeti are around 10 per cent lower than those from the three X-Rite devices. The Jeti was last calibrated on 2024 March. What could be the reason for this difference?
Best regards and thanks, Daniel

Calibration intervals for professional gear such as the Jeti generally run about 12 months. If this is the case, then that meter is close to 2 years past its calibration due date. This by itself probably isn't the cause for the discrepancy, but could be a contributor. Meters also come with a specification for their luminance measurements. The Jeti's is +/- 4.4% (Illuminant A @ 100 nits). Ted's website lists +/- 4% for the I1D3 OEM, and I couldn't find the same spec online for the I1 Pro 2. Do keep in mind that the primary function of the I1 Pro series spectros is to read color material swatches using their own built-in illumination. Display color measurement is a secondary capability, but not their main purpose. The X-Rites are also not built with the same control of precision between examples as the Jeti. They are budget meters, after all. If one brand of meter is reporting at one end of its spec and the other brand reports at the opposite end of its spec, that may account for much of the difference you saw.

I guess you're right—that's exactly what's making me a little uneasy.

I have a CR-250-RH spectro that was serviced this past August.
My Calibrite Colorchecker Display Plus can deviate by ~ +7% in luminance on a couple of colors when measuring RGBCMYW compared the CR meter, depending on the display. But, it always measures a little hotter than the spectro.
I also have an i1D3 OEM, which is the exact same hardware as the Calibrite meter, which matches luminance with the CR meter pretty well, usually within ± 3%.
My MYIRO-1 10 nm spectro consistently measures 3-4% lower than the CR-250.
I always trust the 4 nm spectro to be the most accurate meter.
