See attached pictures. My laptop with CS running before the TV that should be calibrated. TV shows background color. Perfect black with 8 bit legal range, signal 16,16,16. But visible grey with 10 bit legal and signal 64,64,64.

As you have not defined the TPG you are using there is really little we can suggest...

Sorry to say, no idea.
Seems like the 10 bit workflow is invalid in some way.

But not a known ColourSpace bug.

Actually, you have read the user guides where it states at the BG colour selector is ALWAYS in 8 bit?
So if you have set the BG colour to be 64, it will indeed be a grey.

Sorry, the user guide says also:
"Hovering over the small patch colour box in the main Settings window will show the actual patch triplet values in the selected Resolution value - 10, 12, 14, or 16-bit."
And in 10 bit legal 64 bit should be black.
Again 2 Photos, the first with 8 bit legal resolution, stabilisation colour and background colour both set to 16 bit -> whole screen is black. Then change resolution to 10 bit legal -> Stabilisation colour still perfect black, background changes to grey.

Sorry I think you are missing the point of what I said...
If you set the BG colour to 64 via the pop-up colour selection, that will be wrong.
But it looks like that is not your issue, as it seems you have set the BG colour to 16 via the pop-up selector, and are just changing the bit depth within ColourSpace.
So that is then back to my original comment.
Seems like your 10 bit workflow is invalid in some way.
But it is not a ColourSpace bug.

And just to be totally sure, I have just tested PGen with a 10 bit monitor here, and as excepted all work totally correctly.

just checked this again. Problem comes up, when colour format is set YCbCr444. RGB works fine. May be you have to change the resolution once from 10bit to 8bit and back again

What Steve was saying is that no matter what bit depth the actual pattern is set to, the background color is always (set) in 8-bit...

ColourSpace always works in RGB.
So that might be a PGen issue...
