Hi, for your colorimeter, see the recommended meter settings here:

https://www.avsforum.com/threads/colourspace-zro-low-cost-manual-calibration-software-thread.3175441/post-60895715

For the HDR calibration, use a different color temp in SM and the regular menu.

The target colorspace is ST.2084 REC.2020 for HDR10.

For LG manual calibration see here:

Thank you for the assistance. Currently I am using Cool for SDR and Warm for HDR. I was able to pre-calibrate the SDR without issues.

But I am a little confused on the HDR WB calibration in the Service Menu. When performing the pre-calibration for the warm preset for HDR what would be the correct settings in ZRO? Would I be setting the color space to ST2084 Rec 2020 and Patch Scale to 8-bit Legal? Would I also be turning on the HDMI override to engage HDR10 as well at this point?

Using 2-Point RGB Balance controls (general rule) you can fix RGB balance, not Y (luminance) / or gamma errors.

For the HDR RGB balance you will use the ST.2084 REC.2020 as the target colorspace, the RGB balance is slightly different compared to REC.709.

Select the same color temp in both WB SM and regular UI menus. (for example, warm 2 to your UI before starting HDR calibration)

For HDR, set patchscale LEGAL and 8-bit if you have Pi3, or 10-bit if you have Pi4 with Ted's PGenenerator ISO 1.3:

Amazing information, thank you Ted for investing your time in this guide, I shall try on my C7.

I love the idea of using two profiles for the two presets (SDR and HDR) so that both are as perfect as possible!

One question though: You recommend using 100% patch for HDR and 109% for SDR when adjusting the "gain".

What about "cut"? Do you have a recommended patch for those?
Thanks!

LG 2017 OLEDs can add internal LUT with Technicolor FW. (17-Point Cube)

Please send me an email to inform you.

For SDR, use only RGB Gain with 109% since the LUT will fix the remaining issues.

For HDR, use both RGB controls.

LG with Contrast @ 100 (HDR/DV) is clipping WTW, so it will become 0-100%.

Take measurements of your whole grayscale and see which adjustments will give you a better performance to the entire RGB balance.

Note: don't press the RESET button to the White Balance menu in Service Menu.

Will replacing the panel resolve the status flag from "NG" to "OK" in the service diagnostics for white balance ?

Is it necessary to perform an In-Stop reset prior to panel replacement in order to reset the stored calibration data?

Kindly advise on the precise procedure to correct the white balance status from "NG" to "OK," and specify any additional calibration or configuration steps required if the LG technician proceeds with panel replacement.

It's not a problem if you see "NG" in the Service Menu (SM); it will not impact the television's performance.

The indication is for Quality Control (QC). When the automated system in the factory pre-calibrates the panel, a QC person checks for any non-conformances.

When you pre-calibrate the TV in the Service Menu, you change those values, making the "NG" indication irrelevant when you use your meter.

When replacing the panel, press "instop" to reset the panel's counter to 0 hours. Even if it shows "NG," you must pre-calibrate the white setting again in the Service Menu.

Overall, this is not an issue.

Thank you for your suggestion. My main query is — where are the factory pre-calibrated white balance values stored, which get reset after pressing the Reset button in the White Balance Service Menu?

Should I opt for a motherboard replacement or a panel replacement to restore the white balance status from "NG" to "OK"?

Please suggest. My LG technician is ready to do anything

The error indicates that the board lacks the factory values for the specific panel calibration.

It's utterly useless info, and the panel calibration is also completely meaningless when you have software, a colorimeter with a correction file for that panel type, or a spectro.

You can't restore that, and I'm unsure if replacing the board will resolve the issue and make it work.

NG is not a problem that requires replacing the board to fit it.

It's not a problem for the end user, unless they lack a meter to pre-calibrate the white.
