Overview
The GAX-8K is a high-performance HDMI test and development tool with DSC support from 9 Gbps to 48 Gbps. Manual Fixed Rate Link lane assignment and selectable DSC enable simultaneous testing for bandwidth and compression. Comprehensive HDMI InfoFrame signal data construction generation and analysis is possible for audio clock regeneration N and CTS values, HDR metadata, HDR byte extraction and pixel data interpretation, HDMI Video Identification Code mapping, plus Auxiliary Video Information and Source Product Description analysis. Hybrid Log Gamma is supported, and there are eight user HDR metadata memory slots.
HDMI standard frame rate analysis is possible from 24 fps to 60 fps and High Frame Rates from 120 fps to 240 fps. Preset EDIDs in the analyzer section accept 120 Hz signals, and user EDID slots can store emulated HFR EDIDs up to 240 Hz. Seven supplied 4K/8K EDIDs may be supplemented by user EDID configurations stored in ten user EDID recallable memory slots.
Two to eight channels of lossless LPCM can be generated across 32 channel configurations, ranging from 32 kHz to 192 kHz with 16 to 24-bit depth. Audio analysis is aided by the onboard VU meter and signal info screen.
The GAX-8K generates 36 test patterns at data rates up to Fixed Rate Link 6 (48 Gbps) and is HDCP 1.4/2.3, 4K/8K compatible. A high-resolution 7.5-inch (19.05-cm) LCD screen displays generated patterns and functions as an eight-channel volume unit meter, an error rate counter, and a signal information source for HDMI audio and video performance metrics.
