We have just completed tests with a company offering film based long-term archiving, using MatchLight to guarantee recovered image colourimetry.

The process places a selection of 'test' colour gamut/gamma images at the beginning of any material being archived to film, such that when re-scanned the initial gamma/gamut frames can be used to automatically generate a LUT via MatchLight IMS to make the recovered digital images close to perfectly match the originals before they were archived.

Vulcan is used to automatically process the recovered (scanned) images with the generated LUT, as well as re-format and size, etc, to any needed alternative deliver format.

The results have proven to be very, very accurate, with no discernible variation in the original and the recovered images.

See the main MatchLight and Vulcan pages within the Light Illusion website for further information.
Or ask questions here...

Cheers,

Steve
