Hi,

The other day I bought a used Cinetal Cinemage 24" LCD display (actually, a client bought it after following my advice) and I am now trying to figure out in what state it is in and how well it can still be calibrated.

I dove into the dazzling amount of options and features it has and I am getting familiar with the display little by little.

I had a go with Lightspace and ran a grayscale check, with the monitor in REC 709 GAMUT CONTROLLED mode. Here's the report PDF.

What worries me at first glance is the BLUE primary measurement. Delta E of 22. I have ran the same grayscale in wide gamut mode and the blue is still off.

Can a 3D lut fix this?

No - that blue is low gamut.
No calibration can fix that.
But, the profile seems to suggest the display is using internal calibration already?
If so, turn that off and re-profile.

Thanks Steve! Good suggestion about the internal calibration. Now how to switch that off....? Got some more reading to do I guess.

This specific monitor also has the ability to be automatically profiled with an i1 Pro, which I happen to have in my toolbox. What's your take on that? Is that better to not do that and just work with a 3D calibration LUT (generated by LightSpace)? Or is it good to do the internal calibration with the i1 Pro and after that create a 3D lut with LS?

You should never use multiple calibrations simultaneously...

You need the display to be totally uncalibrated, and then use LightSpace.
