But, to answer the basic question, you cannot use a 3D LUT as such to calibrate a PC display as the graphics card ONLY uses 1D grey scale calibration.
This is via what is known as a VCGT - Video Card Gamma Table.
You have to use ICC profiles and software that is ICC compliant to get gamut calibration control.
When looking at video or images via software that is NOT compliant with ICC profile you will not be seeing 'calibrated colour' - just grey scale.
This is why most users looking for accurate display calibration use a LUT box in the signal path.
