I don't know if I misunderstand something (most probably yes...), but if I send a null LUT via the upload option to my CG246, do I still need to set-up my display for calibration? Because when I do this, all the options of the display are not anymore available in the display menu. Or is it better to use the custom option of the display and do all the set up manually?

Thanks for your help.

I think (and I have to say I am not sure) that when using the custom LUT slots you have no manual control over the Eizo display...
So you basically allow the LUT to do all the calibration - which is fine.

Yep it seems that it worked like that. So if you do a calibration through HDMI cable from laptop to the display, when plugging the working station with displayport, it use a different slot from the display... So the calibration is not recognise... I don't know if I'm clear...

But I'm getting the good cables and stuff to make it simpler!

Yep, the Eizo uses different slots for different inputs, so you need to have correct connection in use when calibration.

That's how the Eizo works.

So if I calibrate with a laptop through mini displayport and HDMI adapter, then plug the calibrated display with HDMI to my woking station, it should keep the LUT in the appropriate slot? Or do they have an other special trick to make it complicated?

That should work - it's the connector in the display that selects the slot...

I am considering an older Eizo 232W but it seems lut loading may be a challenge. Am I correct or will it be as simple as normal?

Please see: http://www.lightillusion.com/eizo_manual.html
The CG232W is specifically listed there.

"Note: The CG232W is not compatible with ColorNavigator NX, making external calibration more difficult (see below for further information on why ColorNavigator NX is important). But the CG232W can still be calibrated as best possible with LightSpace CMS."
This is from the guide with no specific reason as to how it is more difficult for the CG232W besides that it is missing the colorNavigator NX.

That is what makes it more difficult...
Please read the information on the need to use ColorNavigator NX with Eizo displays.

Steve:
The integration enables the Eizo monitor to act as its own patch generator, providing perfect closed-loop calibration with LightSpace.

This is a quite nice feature of some Eizo CG monitors.

Regarding NEC PA272W or other NECs, are they capable to generate color patches?

No, they do not have that capability.
