What is considered a "modern" laptop and GPU

After reading the article about using ColourSpace's built-in HDMI patch generator, I wonder what constitutes as a modern laptop and suitable for using the built-in patch generator? My current laptop is Lenovo ThinkPad T440p, a high-performance one but 10 years old at this point. It has integrated and dedicated GPUs, Intel HD Graphics 4600 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M. The Intel control panel doesn't seem to have a way to set the data levels which concerns me.

Unfortunately, the only way to be sure is to test the HDMI output...
