hi steve
Regarding the absolute error chart for RGB balance, what kind of information is it expressing on the chart?
I have understood the meaning of not selecting the absolute error, it is the RGB balance that does not take into account the effect of luminance, and calculates the linear RGB values by xyz normalized by luminance, based on the target color space transformation matrix and differing from the target. It's also the same as the small square image on the right, choosing chroma only.
However, the absolute error chart of RGB balance, I can never understand it, and I can't calculate it. I thought it was RGB balance with luminance information (like the small square chart on the right, without choosing chroma only), and calculate non-linear RGB values according to the target color space transformation matrix and gamma by XYZ with luminance information. RGB values, and the difference with the target. But my calculations are not, and even when I change the luminance value of the target, the chart does not change!
So what does the chart mean please?
Thank you very much.
