First time with MadVR envy running firmware 1.9.0.43 and current CS as per december 11/2024:
No problems connecting to the Envy, however, no calibration patches are generated, just black. Not in manual or characterisation.
Am i missing something obvious here?

That sounds like a question for madVR support.
We have not had any reports of any issues, so it may be an Envy configuration problem.

An update: Turns out the Envy:s internal pattern generator will not generate any patches if there is an active input connection at the same time. Had to disconnect all sources and finally the patches appeared. As soon as I connect any active source to the Envys HDMI input, the Envy:s pattern generator simply stops working until I disconnect both the HDMI input from the Envy and also disconnect and then reconnect (network server) the Envy within ColourSpace.

You change the internal pattern generator from PQ/SDR and Rec.709/2020 etc. by using the colored buttons on the Envy remote. I found that the SDR patterns works fine and from that point I could generate and upload LUT:s from CS. The PQ-pattern resulted in a strange, almost linear response curve and was not useful. However I achieved my goals by using the SDR/2020-option as the customer had a Sony VW7000 where the output from the Envy was SDR/2020.

End result was satisfying. Earlier the customer had persistent troubles with highlight clipping issues when running HDR-content from source to the VW7000. Envy resolved these issues really well.

The only unsolved issue we left with was that the Envy often (but not always) failed to load the correct 3DLUT for a rec2020-setup, defaulting to "None" and instead applying the Rec.709-LUT on HDR-content.

MadVR has a pdf-guide for CS on their site but it does not mention the above issues. It also digress to much explaining how you perform CS probe profiling and probe placement, all mixed with instructions related to the Envy.

Anyway, short recap from a long story. Might help someone in the future.
