Using a controlled video source display a black image-Check
Change the In/Out HDMI options in turn and check for accurate black levels-Check
A probe can be used to check black levels, as outlined below-Check

Generate a 'File/New' LUT, and use 'Edit/LUT Manipulation/Gamma' and set to 2.0-Check
Using a controlled video source display a Light Illusion BrightnessCal image-Check

Again, change the In/Out HDMI options in turn and test by uploading the Gamma LUT created above.?
When the correct Lumagen configuration is set the Gamma LUT will operate correctly-???

OLED LG 65EF9500 (0 Black level)
Changing the Gamma factor to 2.0 when making a "New LUT " will increase the black level.
Wouldn't changing the Gamma factor from 1 to 2 and setting the Lumagen settings (black level) to accommodate the new Gamma factor of 2, mean that any new LUTs that are made should be made using a gamma factor of 2.?
I must be missing something here because that makes no sense., so that is why I am asking the question below.
What changes in the "Lumagen configuration" do you suggest changing and why.

Changing the various In/Out options on the Lumagen you are looking for a configuration that has no effect on the Black level.
The Gamma 2.0 LUT will alter the Mids, but NOT the black level, when with the correct setting.
The Gamm 2.0 LUT is just to run these tests - you should use what ever Gamma you want when calibrating.

See the charts on the Lumagen Page: Example Testing for correct Black Levels and LUT Operation

Default ( Avg, 0.00009) is slightly better than Passback (Avg. 0.0002), using a Lumagen 2041, Oppo BDP 103 and 65EF9500 LG 4K OLED.
I used Lightspace CMS triplet 6% window, along with Gamma 2.0LUT.

'Slightly better' is not what we would expect - that suggests something else is not as it should be in the image path.

Thanks Steve.

Well that is with my Lumagen 2041 that I am trading in on the 4444.
You can bet I will be testing out how the 4444 works.
Running a 21x3 profile now with the 2041, so I have it ready to upload to the 4444 that will be here today.

I normally use Klein's Chromasurf to upload my black profile to the K10, but when testing I use LS to do a Black profile and I think it works even better than Chromsurf.
