Hello everyone!

Could anyone confirm if the LG OLED65G55LW or OLED65C55LA support internal 3D LUT calibration via ColourSpace?
I am verifying this due to the disabled calibration capabilities reported on certain European LG models.

My reference monitor is an Asus QD-OLED. If internal 3D LUT calibration is unavailable on these LG models, they lose their primary advantage over other brands.

Under those circumstances, would a Samsung or Sony QD-OLED be a better choice to naturally match the Asus QD-OLED without requiring perceptual matching?
Since the monitor and the TV cannot be viewed simultaneously, the need for a strict perceptual match is somewhat reduced.

If internal 3D LUT support is unavailable on these displays, I am considering calibrating them via a Blackmagic Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G (which features a 33-point 3D LUT) connected to the SDI output of my DeckLink.

Among these options (Samsung, Sony, or LG WOLED/Tandem), which brands generally offer the most trouble-free SDR and HDR calibration process using ColourSpace?

I am primarily interested in the overarching calibration capabilities of these brands rather than specific models, as LG has traditionally been the default choice due to its internal 3D LUT support.

Thank you for your assistance.

Samsung doesn't offer internal LUT calibration capability at all. Some of their models offer DDC control of grayscale and CMS, but so far only if you use the other major brand of calibration software. It's manual calibration only for ColourSpace users unless you use an external LUT box. No idea when or if that will ever change.

Thank you, RollsRoyce.

My primary concern is whether the Samsung QE65S95F can be calibrated accurately by sending an SDI signal from a DeckLink to the Blackmagic Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G, utilizing its internal 33-point 3D LUT.

I need to confirm if all internal video processing, such as tone mapping, ASBL, dynamic contrast etc. can be completely bypassed on the Samsung QE65S95F or the Sony Bravia 8 A / 8 ii to ensure unadulterated 3D LUT execution via the HDMI input.

Regarding manual calibration, which brand between Samsung and Sony offers superior multipoint grayscale and CMS control?

Please verify if this general calibration quality hierarchy is accurate:
  • Internal 3D LUT calibration
  • External 3D LUT calibration (33-point via Micro Converter)
  • Manual calibration (Multipoint Grayscale and CMS)

As far as I'm aware, tonemapping cannot be bypassed on the Samsungs, at least on the two (2016 KS8000 and 2023 S90CD) we have. And everything I've read recently on Sonys indicates that their special "secret sauce" in processing cannot be defeated either.
