Issues Using Teranex Mini 8K SDI to HDMI as LUT Box in SDR

Hi All, first time poster here.

Has anyone here used the LUT capabilities of the Teranex Mini 8K SDI to HDMI? I have been unable to get a good result when applying a LUT generated in Colourspace.
I have calibrated my LG CX OLED in the past from Davinci Resolve using the internal 3D LUT via Device Control. The Teranex is in the pathway but with no LUTs applied. It works well with no clipping or video level issues but I am hoping to get a better result with the Teranex as well as use it for some HDR LUT tasks in the future.

Attached are the results of the LUT applied in the Teranex. I have played with the data/video levels in the SDI output as well as the Teranex which doesn't seem to help. The image is darker and the gamut larger than it should be. The gamut is still smaller the the native gamut of the panel so the LUT is definitely having an effect.

Am I correct in thinking that if I disable the internal TV 3d LUT and profile the native gamut with the TV set to y2.2 the resulting LUT could be placed before the TV (in the Teranex) in the signal path?

In the past I have used an AJA LUT box with reasonable success using the same TV and Davinci Resolve setup.

The specs of my setup:
Full range patches in Colourspace
Davinci Resolve as TPG

That means there is indeed a Range Scaling issue somewhere...
As for where the issue is, it's really impossible to tell remotely.

Apply a videoscale pass black filter before the export of the LUT for your Teranex.

Replying here for posterity:

Applying the videoscale pass black filter before exporting the LUT worked perfectly.

Thanks Ted!

Thanks for this Ted!
Worked perfectly for me too. What does enabling it do actually?

When a device has a LUT in full range (0-1023), performing a video range profiling means that the videoscale filter will map black to 64 and white to 940 using the 0-1023 as a container.

The typical export maps the reference black to 0 and the reference white to 1023, which is correct when you profile using full range.

That makes sense! Thanks!
