Grayscale Calibration

How about adding grayscale/Gamma/color temp charts so we don't have to use different calibration software to do a manual grayscale.
I am not suggesting a autocal grayscale, just a manual grayscale.

I really think not having to use in my case CM5 to do a 10 point manual grayscale and a meter profile would make things better, faster and easier.

They are already there...
RGB Balance is Grey Scale / Colour Temp, which a Quick Profile will show.

And putting up manual grey scale patches and setting the 'cross' in the centre of the target circle is how you manually set grey scale / colour temp for various grey levels.

Does that help?

Yes I understand about RGB Balance and QP, what I don't understand is how I get individual readings from say 10 point gray patches using LS ?
I use a 2041 as a pattern source and the 10 point internal controls of a Panasonic 65VT60 for setting my grayscale.

Thanks,

You should have LS in live 'Measure' mode, where it is displaying live feedback from the probe, and then put each grey patch up on the screen in turn.

Then, looking at the 'live cross' on the CIE Diagrams (switch between both) adjust the display internal controls to get the 'cross' in the centre of the colour space target circle.

Does that help?

However, I am unhappy using 10 point controls like this as they will 'fight' with the later 3D LUT calibration.
I always recommend 1 or 2 point only.
(Usual rules: use as few display controls as possible to get the basic underlying set-up).

Ok, I think I got it and will try it your way.

Please understand I would never go back to any other calibration software other than LS.

Thanks,

Thanks for that - we all here at Light Illusion really appreciate it!
