As is explained in the various User Guides (but can be a bit of a search to find) the patch generator is responsible for setting the correct patch scaling.
This is normally part of the workflow configuration for your specific setyp.
If profiling a normal TV, for example using the HDMI output of the LightSpace PC, the TV's EDID data will set the PC's HDMI output to the correct range - unless you override it.
This is all separate to LightSpace, and is standard for any calibration.
If the patch generator you are using doesn't correctly scale the patches you can use the 'Patch Scale' option within LightSpace to set this.
But the Slider, etc, will still show 0-255, as the scaling is at the point of output.
