Fighting MacOS ColorSync ?

I am trying to prepare my Mac's external monitor (Iiyama XB2779Q) for later calibration with Lightspace so that it better matches my reference monitor. I followed the instructions in the "Display preparation" section of the user guide.

I run MacOS Sierra and use the Java calibration client.

After getting strange results from Quick Profiling in combination with the I1 Display Pro, I played with the icc profile settings in the MacOs Color Sync user preferences. After trying almost all the general ICC profiles, I finally found two that results in delta E under 2.3 over the entire range ('ColorMatch RGB' and 'Generic RGB Profile').

Is that the correct way, or is it possible to disable ColorSync altogether ?

thanks for any advice regarding this,

Winfried

I would either use an ICC with no colour management (a bypass/null profile), or possibly just delete all ICC profiles from within the Mac?
