Hi there,
I'd like to know how Colourspace deals with metamerism. When calibrating client displays with other softwares I normally come up with a white point offset to match visually a reference monitor. Let's say I'm using Sony ref monitor like an X300 or X310 and trying to match an OLED TV(LG/Panasonic etc)

Then I take that offset as xy target for my client OLED calibration, line it up, happy days. Client OLED and reference monitor match the best they can. I store my offset in the notes for future use when encountering that make/model of OLED.

Now, does Colourspace work in a similar way ? or "profiling" the monitor allows it to come up with an offset on its own to make the client monitor look right against a reference just by choosing "D65" as target ? Presume the answer is no, again due to metamerism but I have a follow up question depending on the answer.

The information in the linked to page on Perceptual Matching was first developed by ourselves in partnership with FSI, and was then adopted by other calibration system suppliers.

If you really want to take it further, you can also match RGB primaries, although that becomes a lot more difficult as the HVS is not so sensitive to such colour variations.
