Unable to open saved profiles (ColourSpace v1756 DPS Only) [Fixed]

Hello Steve,

I have been using a version from june 2023 and wanted to open old profiles but a bug seems to block the process...

I have no issues opening presets profiles but when I click on "display" for saved profiles, nothing happens. Moreover, when I click on "modify", the software just crashes.

I've updated to the latest version of Colourspace in the hope that the bug would be maybe corrected but it's still there...

That sounds like a PC issue, as we have no such known bugs in ColourSpace.
Possibly an openGL issue?

I agree with Steve. I just checked on my v1756 install, and no issues such as you describe. Perhaps a driver update has borked your GPU's OpenGL abilities...

I have no such an issue also on very old bcs.
I would try re-importing directly from %appdata%\ColourSpace\ColourSpaces a bcs and displaying it.

Thanks for your messages !

I've tried uninstalling my graphics card drivers and re-installing it, I've uninstalled Colourspace and re-installed it, I've removed all unnecessary programs from my PC (it is only used for Colourspace), all of that without any luck.

@ebr9999, I cannot do that since I only own the DPS version of Colourspace. I tried deleting the profiles from inside Colourspace though, and re-inserting them from the explorer, didn't work either...

I attached a screenshot from the crash window and the matching log file.

Sorry, but this is not a ColourSpace bug, and unfortunately the log file shows nothing of use in the way of information, as the issue is outside ColourSpace.
If you make a video of the crash happening, I may be able to suggest what is wrong with your PC.
(You can use https://screenpal.com/ for example.)

That looks to be a Windows Access issue.
Definitely not a ColourSpace bug.

Hello Steve,

Well... Not yet.

I completely wiped my laptop, clean-reinstalled Windows 10 and the issue is still there.

There's only one user account on the laptop, and running ColourSpace as administrator doesn't change anything.

For now I'm waiting for a friend of mine to do some testing on his own PC, I'll let you know what comes out of this.

I just cannot think of anyhting else I can try...

I take it all back!
I've just looked at your License, and you have a DPS license.
As per the Features Matrix, that license level will not 'Save' profiles.

For some reason the profiles are not being fully cleared, and the 'name' is remaining, although the profile data is cleared.
Hence, the inability to Display a profile, and the crash when trying to use Modify.

So a real Bug, but the functions should not be accessible to you as a DPS user anyway.
We will fix in the next release, and make sure all the profile data is correctly cleared.

Hmmmm that makes more sense indeed !

I forgot this profiles saving detail in the features matrix, and since I was able to save them...

So now I know that I'm gonna have to upgrade I guess ah ah ah !
