As I previously did with Sony I have emailed Samsung electronics requesting that Samsung open up user 3DLUT calibration on their premium tv's . I have requested that ColourSpace can be used.

As with Sony I'm sure Steve and his team at Light Illusion would love to be able to provide users with this capability going forward and also as with Sony is entirely in Samsung's hands. Again, maybe with enough feedback Samsung may consider implementing this. So if you have a Samsung Tv and want to use ColourSpace for 3dLUT calibration and have time to do so please consider sending an email requesting it.

Unless you have an email address for someone very high-up at Samsung, it's unlikely anything will happen...

We have tried to talk to Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, etc., with no result at all.

TCL we are already working with, and their first iteration of 3D LUT calibration via ColourSpace is now available.

LG has obviously been available for some time.

Hisense were originally very keen, but were unable to finish the project, as we're Vizio and JVC.

We were also approached by Huawei, but that too fizzled out without anything happening...

It's unfortunate that these companies won't come to the party. The email I sent went to the office of the CEO of Samsung Electronics Australia. Whether that will help any at all remains to be seen. I'm not sure I understand their reluctance, surely having ColourSpace and user 3DLUT capability would be a selling point for them. But at the end of the day it's not my decision to make.

Unless Samsung has drastically changed, they have proven to be extremely resistant to incorporating customer suggestions for added capabilities. My 2016 KS8000 was one of the first Samsungs to offer direct (via a LI competitor) software calibration, but this was done via DDC and not 3D LUT. I would be curious to know whether they have even incorporated 3D LUTs, programmable or otherwise, in their designs.
