Prometheus at profile start and after a power cycle

What I have noted:
  • I connect the probe and I set its settings.
  • I close and reopen a profile, connect the probe, and its settings are there.
  • I disconnect it, power cycle the probe, and connect it again: my settings are lost (I guess with its defaults)

With any hardware that has the ability to read settings from it, we always default to the hardware's settings on connection.
This is important, as it would not be good for any settings to be overwritten by ColourSpace without the user's knowledge.

So this is not a ColourSpace bug, as we are just reading the probe's settings on connection.
And it seems the probe remembers the settings while power is applied, but forgets them when power is removed.

But, the assumption is that CS users know what they are doing. Based on Michele work I have used those settings.
I understand the need to show clever instruments defaults, but there should be a way to help both experienced and un-experienced user.
Why not having a flag for defaults being shown/used?

Unfortunately, ColourSpace cannot know what settings are default/correct.
That is basically impossible.
That is exactly why we default to the settings within the hardware.

I am only saying that in principle both (user and default) are valid. Only a flag in the HW window. If I flag I see (and I apply) the default one. I un-flag I see and apply my ones. The user takes full responsibility of what it does.
Obviously a WIBINI ....
