During this and last week, I did a lot of probe matching with i1Basic Pro 3 and CS stoped responding a number of times when I attempted to disconnect it afterwards. I waited up to 5 minutes but in the end I always had to force quit. CS. No other program was running.

CS Version: LTE, 2.0.0.2424
PC specs: Lenovo ThinkPad
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz (2.61 GHz)
16,0 GB (15,7 GB usable)
Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics (128 MB)
Windows 11 Home 25H2

Thanks - I have now replicated this.
Something new, so we will look into it. and fix.

Edit: it did it once, but now I cannot repeat at all.
I did reinstall the Xrite driver though.

Unfortunately the problem still persists, even after reinstalling the driver.

Equally unfortunately, we have only seen it the once, and never again.
If we cannot replicate, there is basically nothing we can do.
I suspect it may be related to the USB connection, and possibly the power requirement of the probe.
Are you using the Xrite provided short usb cable, and connecting directly to a a motherboard USB socket?

I understand. I'm using the provided cable and connecting directly to an USB-port. There's only two I think, I haven't tested the other one yet. I'll also try to re-reinstall if I did something wrong the first time.

Laptop/notebook USB ports sometimes have problems providing enough juice for I1 Pros - they are very power hungry. Do you have a powered USB hub? I've always used one with my I1 Pro spectros and haven't had any issues.

I checked all the ports, same result. One of them did have a battery icon so I assumed that offered the most power but it made no difference. All the ports seem to be pretty low power, D2 according to the Device Manager, so that could easily be the problem here.

I did some further testing today and CS stops responding only during the first time I disconnect it after I plug it in after I turn on the laptop. It did that five times in a row. After force quitting and restarting CS, i1Pro disconnects without an issue. I also noticed that when CS stops responding I can disconnect the prob via Windows' eject drive function, so CS has clearly stopped talking to it at that point.

Edit: my current workaround is to simply connect the spectro before doing anything else, disconnect, force quit and reconnect. Works fast enough, but it's still annoying.

That is weird that your Windows is using the "Eject Drive" command along with the probe. I don't believe that should be happening.

Oh, that's strange.

Do you have a 3rd-party USB port driver installed, something that came with an external drive or other device?

I have seen this issue, but very, very rarely.
So I think its something within the probe itself.
It does seem to vary with different example of the probe, and different cables, etc.
We just cannot pin the issue down, as it happens far to rarely...
But we'll keep checking in case we can spot something.
