In probe adjustment (in https://www.lightillusion.com/colourspace_manual.html#probe-options) it is mentioned:
If no probe match data has been saved, the New button (available when a probe is connected) enables a name to be defined for a new probe match, and the Measure buttons can be used to profile the presently active probe. The individual << Measure buttons can be used to update each RGBW Yxy values, or the Measure All button used to update all simultaneously.

What currently happens is that, new probe name already exists, its data set is updated (i.e. overwritten) without any warning.

As explained HERE, updating/overwriting an existing Probe Match file by using the same file name is exactly how the process was designed to work.

It response to the above request, we added a file name check to prevent the same file name being used.
Unfortunately, the fact the file name also incorporates the probe details, the names are not the same when the file is generated, and the name checked.

If you make a probe match file called Test, it will be saved as: [probe details] Test
So making another probe Match file called Test will not be the same name, so the 'check' will not flag the name as already being used.
When the file is actually generated and saved, it will therefore update/overwrite the file called [probe details] Test, has has always been the defined workflow.

It's unlikely we will change this workflow.
(Certainly not in the near future.)

But now it works as before, or am I missing something? I was expecting a test to be done on [Probe details] Test .....
Anyhow, at least it works. In the mean time, I will suggest in Tips and Tricks to set important bpd's as read only (I have just set my bpd's to be back-upped in the cloud)

We're not going to add 'read only'.
Please use the Export option to back-up any important files.

Anyhow, I have just noted that, when you do new, if you type, instead of "test", "[probe details] Test" CS generates the correct error msg and prevents writing,
