Hello,

With the latest VMware Fusion update released in early March, it should provide « OpenGL 4.2 emulated x86/x64 support for Windows ARM guest operating systems ».

Has anyone tested ColourSpace on the new VMware Fusion version on a Silicon Mac? Maybe it could work now.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, Fusion doesn't have OpenGL for ARM.
I test this often - never works.
I also posted a question via 'VMware Customer Connect'.
I received the same answer - no OpenGL support.

That is weird because they officially claim supporting OpenGL according to their latest release note I put a link to.
I would be interested to see the link to your thread on the VMware Fusion customer forum if you can send it

Please feel free to test for yourself.
If you can get OpenGL to work, that would be great.
I uninstalled my VMware Fusion installation, and did a clean install, with the latest VMware Tools - still will not work...

I find VMware really awkward, so really prefer Parallels.

After the debacle that was Broadcom buying out VMware, I have been able to actually get the latest VMware Tools, as well as the latest VMware Fusion update, installed.

OpenGL now works, and as a consequence, ColourSpace can now be used via VMware Fusion with the latest VMware Tools.
I have only tested the basics, but it seems to be all as expected.

Then I might consider asking for a refund for my recently purchase Parallels Desktop annual subscription.

Make sure you test fully first.
I've only tested the basics.
And I have no idea what will happen with VMware now, under Broadcom ownership.

Yes I will.
Don't wanna switch to many times as I know the authorized number of installations is limited to 5 before having to complete the form to switch again.

Hi,

It's worth noting that Fusion Pro 13 and VMware Workstation Pro 17 are now free for non-professional use.

I've heard that the license has changed but the store is still being updated. But this could be good for those who want to experiment with desktop virtualization.

I've only tested the basics.

After further testings on my side, I have successfully achieved a calibration, so it works as intended.
This is good news for now. Then I will consider canceling my Parallels subscription, even if it works well.
Depending on Broadcom's next moves, I may switch back to Parallels in the future.
But right now VMware Fusion does the job perfectly and for free.
