SmallHD 10-bit to Flanders 8-bit?

Hi, we have a 24" SmallHD MON-2403L monitor purchased in 2016. Specs claimed it was 10-bit panel with 3000-1 contrast ratio. We're looking to replace it and I was looking at the FSI DM231 since 240 is out of production because panels aren't available. I realized the DM231 is 8-bit and 1500-1 contrast ratio.

I don't believe the SmallHD truly is 3000-1 contrast. SmallHD claims the viewing angle is 178-degrees and it sure as hell isn't, so... Plus colors have always been difficult to dial in.

What do you think about going from the SmallHD to the FSI? I'm thinking there's more to it then immediately forgetting the FSI simply because it's 8-bit on the spec sheet.

We film corporate videos in 10-bit on Panasonic GH6 cameras for web delivery. Thanks

In the real world, you would not notice any difference with 8bit FRC vs. 10 bit.

Thanks Steve, unfortunately it's just 8-bit, not 8-bit + FRC. I just checked with Flanders to confirm. They did say though

so while just 8bit, on a smooth gradient this monitor will often appear smoother than monitors using less sophisticated lut interpolation
we use tetrahedral lut interpolation, which helps with smooth gradients.
For SDR you really can only tell on very specific test patterns that the unit is 8bit and not 10bit
