Question about probe matching procedure

Hi,

I have thus far calibrated my TFT displays with a CR-100 without a spectro which has worked without issue.
However from what I read if I were to use an OLED or QD-OLED display it's even more important to use a good spectro (with 2nm spectral bandwidth) to match the CR-100 to.

Reading up on the procedure, it seems that I'd only need to take 4 readings with the spectro (R, G, B and W)? Or a bit more when doing a multi-point volumetric probe match?

And am I correct in assuming that I only need to get this measurement "once" per display? So If I rent a good spectro for a couple of days I wouldn't need it for the recurring profiling of the displays?

Best,

Barend

That depends on the level of accuracy you want to attain.
Every display will be slightly different, and additionally the tristimulus may change due to ageing, so for true accuracy you should probe match before every calibration.
