Hi.

I bought, recently, LightSpace Home Cinema. I used Calman before and they are very different.

And I have some doubts about how use LightSpace (I read the guides, they are useful). All help is appreciate.

I am using LightSpace to calibrate a Panasonic 50" VT50 connected to a Lumagen Mini. By the moment, I am using an i1 Pro and i1 Display Pro.

- When will I make the profiling of the probes, can I use the method using the LightSpace patches? I suppose the patches generated by the Lumagen are similar "quality" of the LightSpace.

- In the guide for 3D LUT calibration recommends adjust gray balance and gamma using two points. I have my VT in THX mode because in the other modes the ABL limits seriously the peak white, in this mode you can only change brightness, contrast and sharpness. Until the moment I use the 20 point calibration of gray scale and gamma in the Lumagen. For what I know the controls of the Lumagen works very well. In the Lumagen I should make only 2 point grayscale and gamma adjusts or there is not problem with 20 point grayscale and gamma?

- In the profiling of the display and the calculation of the LUT, should I select Hybrid 1D+3D and 5 for cube side? Lumagen Mini supports only a cube of 5.

- To calibrate a Plasma with i1 Display Pro RevB is better BURST or AIO?

- Does someone know the PWM frecuency of VT50? In order to calculate the correct integration time.

Other question not related with LightSpace, the last time I certificate the i1 Pro was in 2013, I stored in a Pelikan 1200 case in a dry place. Should I send it to recertificate? How can I know it need a recertificate?

Thanks in advance.

You 'have' to use the LightSpace patches, which the Lumagen will emulate if you are connect to it.
Or, you have to use patches with exactly the same colour and luma values.

As per the instructions, you should use a 'few' external controls as possible.

For profiling you should use the largest Cube size possible, regardless of the final LUT size, and use Anisometric patches especially with a Plasma.
Hybrid mode should only ever be used with small Cube size profiling, and is not the best method - large Cube only profiles are far better.

AIO is better, if you probe supports it.

No idea of the PWM frequency - you will have to ask Panasonic...

The only way you can verify if any probe is still accurate is to compare with a known accurate spectro of good quality, such as Jeti or CR-250.

Thanks for the answer.

I use LightSpace connected to Lumagen, it is very handy. I only have to click on Measure all and wait.

About the profiling, I have still doubts:

- Is it better, not make adjustments with the Lumagen or only two balance grayscale or gamma?

- If I make adjustments in the Lumagen, it has the possibility to set 20 points after make the 2 points. Lumagen interpolates the values using as a base the 2 points value. Does it have some sense to make this change?

When I'll upload the LUT to Lumagen, the controls of the Lumagen is better to fix the broadest option or the same in the moment of profiling? By example: If I make the profiling with 2 point grayscale, does it have sense to fix the Lumagen to 20 point grayscale when I am going to upload the Calibration LUT?

I suppose they are very basic questions but this is the first time I am going to use a LUT for calibration.
