Prominence 3D LUT calibration verification issue

Hello there,

I am trying to calibrate our ref Eizo CG3146 monitor through a 3D LUT calibration management, as the monitor allows to.

After a 21^3 cube based characterisation, I have created the LUT to Rec709 in the ColourSpace tool (INF license).
When I check the LUT in the hardware option "active LUT" , the result is great.
But I upload the LUT in the monitor through the USB link , the gamut has not mapped to 709, and the white point is not so good.
However, I can see that the LUT is acting on the image rendition when i upload it (the gamma 2.4 is happening) but you will see attached the verification graph.
Last, when i check the LUT with another software the LUT is good and corrects the monitor where it should be.

Does anyone have an idea about what I am doing wrong (it seems a user error but do not see which one right now).

Thanks in advance

Hi

If you are using the 3146 as tpg, then you need to use the emulated tpg not the standard. The standard tpg is downwind of the lut.

From the EIZO User Guide:

"Additionally, EIZO monitors that use the Extended LUT option have the Standard TPG Processor after the LUT, and so cannot be used to verify calibration. If available, the Emulated TPG Processor should be used, as it is before the LUT."

Hi, i don't have CG3146 but I have calibrated my CG319x many times, the way I set it up is as follows:
Colourpsace + PGen w/TED Calbration Disk
- Monitor set range to Full
- Colourspace set to Full
- Eizo via Hardware Options -> use Standard slot -> Upload Unity Bypass. I think Standard slot for Full range and Emulated for Video range.
Result & Eizo setup via Colourspace please see in picture. Hope this help!

" I think Standard slot for Full range and Emulated for Video range" No. The signal flow, as indicated above, for all CG EIZO with 3D lut caability, EXCEPT the CG247X, is signal conversion/Scaling>3D lut>1D lut>Matrix. The Standard tpg is just before the 1D lut so CN7 uses this for its calibration and verification. The Emulated tpg is before the 3D lut and this MUST be used to veriffy the 3D lut.

The CG247X is the ONLY variant where the 3D lut is BEFORE the scaling/signal conversion (YCbCr to RGB). The Emulated tpg is before the 3D lut in the CG247X as well, but any input to the CG247X when using a 3D lut must be RGB.
