Purchased a MYIRO-1 to replace my i1 Pro 2 which started malfunctioning. It will be primarily used for probe matching an i1D3 to WOLED displays.
To those users who own the MYIRO-1 and have used it for the same purpose, any noticeable benefits over the i1 Pro line of spectros regarding this particular use case (aside from being wireless)?

I do believe they have the same 10nm resolution as the I1 Pro series, so no gain there.

Hi

I recently received mine and was doing initial testing but haven't yet put it through its paces for an actual calibration.
One thing I can say, is that I'm sure you will be better off using the meter via USB instead of WiFi. The WiFi ping testing I did showed lots of variability between pings. Like any wireless network. Not sure if this would show up in measurements, but just one less variable you can control for with a cable.

Ran a quick test on the Myiro connected via Wifi vs. connected via USB utilizing secondary execution to measure 95% RGBW patches (3 each) and comparing the average xyY data. Display is an LG G3.

I'd attribute any variations to the instability of WOLED and the meter not being in exactly the same position when running the wireless and wired measurements since it's necessary to move the meter when switching between modes.

A behavior I have been noticing when attempting to connect to the MYIRO-1 via USB cable using ColourSpace:
It's necessary that the cable be connected directly to a USB port on my laptop.
Attempting to connect via a USB hub results in an error.

Unless the hub is a powered one, it will likely not work with any power hungry probe.
Like the i1Pro, the Myiro-1 is very power hungry.

Tried it with my powered USB hub and a typical mini hub that plugs directly into the laptop USB port. Ran into the same issue.
Hopefully any power that's lacking by connecting the probe directly to the laptop can be provided by the MYIRO's built in rechargeable battery.

Hi,

I just tested and have a Myiro-1 and i1D3 both working at the same time connected to a USB 3 powered hub which itself is connected to a USB3 cable extension.

The only limitation I found is you need to plug the whole apparatus directly into a USB port on your computer.

Originally I tried with the USB 3 extension connected to my laptop dock. However that threw a windows error saying your hub won't work as its 5 hubs away.

I guess the active USB 3 cable's electronics are considered USB hubs. Interesting.

Anyhow, here is the links to these items:
