Hisense 55 u7hq calibration problems.

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Hisense U7hq tv and wanted to calibrate it with Colourspace ZRO and i1 Display Pro. I've done it before with a very good result, on my old Samsung, but it's not so easy on Hisense. While the 2-point white balance works correctly, the 20-point white balance from IRE 50 upwards does not respond to any corrections at all. What could be the reason for such behavior of the tv, it complicates the whole calibration.

Check if it has any 'hidden' power-saving function enabled.

If it's a model with local dimming that you can't disable during calibration, use 50% area patterns with a white background.

Check the contrast and brightness patterns before starting the adjustments.

Use those steps to find out the best starting point:

If the multipoint controls are still not mapping your adjustments, you can try to find the 'exact' code levels per each control.

You can use that method and create a custom patchlist with 220p grayscale (16-235) 8bit:

There is a better guide for defining the correct patch values for manual adjustment control points.
It is simpler to use and understand.

See the CSV Patch Sets item, Defining Adjustment Point Values.

This TV also has a twenty-point gamma adjustment, which in theory should work, because I tried to set the gamma, but it didn't work either.

You are going to have to be a lot more specific about your issues.
Have you verified the correct patch colours for the control points, as per the above links?
If the control points are not matched correctly with the patch colour, any adjustments will be wrong.

Thank you for all the advice, but this TV is just garbage, the Chinese have failed. I adjusted the patterns as described in the link above, but I still can't set anything. Even if I choose a pattern, let's say IRE 50, and try to match the pattern bit by bit, nothing happens, or the regulation works the other way around, which means that I have to increase the red color from the measurement, for example, and by doing so, the red color does not increase just reduce.Steve

Does sound like the TV's CMS is broken...

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're facing with your TV adjustments. It can be frustrating when the desired changes don't occur as expected. If you've followed the provided advice and are still experiencing issues, there might be specific technical nuances or limitations with your TV model.

Consider reaching out to the TV manufacturer's customer support for dedicated assistance. They may provide additional insights, troubleshooting steps, or direct you to any available firmware updates that could address the concerns you're facing.

Hi,calman provides ddc and 3dlut for Hisense TV. I wonder if colourspace has the same intention. Maybe there is an open interface inside Hisense where we can upload lut by ourselves?

If any TV/display/monitor manufacturer has the capability to use 3D LUTs, we would be more than happy to work with them.
Hisense have not approached us, so we have no idea what LUT capabilities they have.

If they do, they aren't advertising it, which is highly unusual for them. Hisense isn't listed as a "supported display" in the specs for any of their Home packages at the moment, either. That may be one of their vaporware "coming soon" promises.
