Has anyone achieved success with outputting the internal LS internal patterns with a MacBook Pro through its HDMI adapter? Using either Bootcamp or Parallels? If so, which one worked, or worked better?

Hi,

I use LightSpace on a Mac through Bootcamp. I use the new MacBook pro which comes with the HDMI as standard. I can output the colour patches without any problems.

Hope this helps.

After using LS on a W8 laptop for a couple of months, I returned to using my MacBook Pro. After updating bootcamp to its latest version and applying the other software updates, I can now output the LS internal patterns to the extended desktop. This pleases me greatly as I was able to return my W8 laptop for refund.

Hi!

Did you use an ultrastudio to get a clean HDMI out of your mac?

Sorry to say, getting a clean output from a Mac without a dedicated video card is impossible.
The ColorSync workflow Mac imposes means all outputs always have a colour profile active, and that cannot be replaced with a 'null/bypass' version.
This is something we have tried to overcome many times, and have never succeeded.

There are other issues too, as some Mac's force YUV output, and cannot use RGB.

There are other discussions on these Mac issue within the forum, as well as within the various website User Guides.
This 11 year old thread should really have been removed, as the information is not valid.
