One thing to remember about colours and perception is we analyze colour contrast, which is something colour scientists are working hard at modelizing since it's a quite complex skill, so if you use DCI primaries but don't have them, the relation between colours is wrong. But you already found out ;)

to answer to Steve, : i know i know...
The fact is that grading had already been done this way...
Before starting the grade, i had a rec 709 D65 calibration but the DOP and the movie director didn't recognize their picture with this calibration.
they convince me to tweak my projector, that i know it was calibrated, in order to find colors they were monitoring on set. It was me, junior colorist and my probe against a 70 years old movie director, his DOP and their eyes... Guess who win...
Grading done, they were happy and of course i was just asking to myself "what the fuck is this gonna look on tv and on cinema..."

So all the job i just did is just a way to be sure that what i see in my grading room will be very close to the cinema projection, and I know, of course, that this is not the correct way to work.

Anyway, thanks again, i learned a lot

Ok,ok!
speaking of color contrast, i get it... i start to understand why it is so important to meet those specification instead of being happy to be able to reproduce more than the rec 709 standart... maybe if i show you my mesures you will find it not so far to DCIP3
