I am guessing this won't be recognized out of the box without software updates, so I am curious if this model will be supported at some point? Thanks for any info.

Obviously, we do not know, as the probes are not presently available.
However, I suspect the low-light capabilities may be compromised with such a high peak luma value....
Time will tell.

Ok, thanks for that info. I have one coming this week and wasn't sure if you were working with them or not hence the question.

The present ColourSpace release will work with the new ColorChecker/Display/i1D3 Rev-C probes, but will not allow use of AIO mode.
The next release of ColourSpace will also include AIO operation.
A Beta version with this support is available for those that request it via email.

Steve, would such a beta request be made direct to you, or to Ted via his website?
And before I get too worked up about the faster LUT generation, what license levels are going to be getting this? If none of the "Hxx" licenses, then I won't...

I did mean to email me, as Ted's website is a contact form, not email. Thanks for the clarification.

And all higher level license have Multi-Threading for LUT Generation, as with the Point Adjust capability we recently released - both Professional and Home Cinema licenses.

I think Steve is correct in his guess that the HL versions of the beloved EODIS3 have become weaker in the dark area.
Here is the result (luminance only) of a small test with an Xrite Display Pro Plus (06/2020; 2000 nits) and the Calibrite Display Pro HL (06/2023; 3000 nits).
Contact measurement with both sensors placed close to each other at the same time in the center of an LG C2 TV.
Parallel measurement with ColourSpace version 1691 on 2 PCs with identical settings (intelligent integration from 1 nit, AIO and frequency mode almost identical result). Measurement times almost the same.
Pattern legal 10Bit 422 from PGenerator 1.5.

Blacktest

This was certainly not a scientific test, but it shows me that the new Calibrite HL sensors have probably not been improved in the dark area.
However, it is pleasant that the Rev. C firmware is compatible with the Rev.B in terms of control.

Was more than one Calibrite HL tested or just this one? Could it be a manufacturing defect? Could you use like a C100 to provide an offset to fix the issue with low light capability?

It will be an inherent limitation with any of the high-brightness versions.
And no, no probe matching can ever improve low-light capabilities.

Sorry for replying so late, but I am not at home.
I only measured the one Calibrite HL because I bought it because I wanted to test the compatibility of the C firmware with the B firmware in my own programs.
All measurements with the Calibrite HL indicate that the sensor is fine.

I think the Plus HL version will read even worse in dark area, probably something like 0,015 nits.

I used the UPRTEK MK550T (which can measure brightness from 0.001 to 5000 cd/m2) to do some low brightness measurement comparisons of the probes.
Maybe you are interested.

I cannot see any settings for the different probe, so making any valid comparison is impossible.
